Who is God?

To understand this word GOD,
It is critical that we go to the Hebrew meaning.
For that is the [main] language the Bible was written in the Old Testament.

There are at least two Hebrew words for God.
El and Elohim. [The others are Eloah and Elah]

El is the singular form and Elohim is the Plural form.
That name El speaks of His Might, Strength or Power.
Elohim speaks of God as Creator and Judge of the Universe.

It literally means THE STRONG ONE.

Elohim is the Plural of Intensity of El.
It is like raising the concept of God to the highest power possible.
It is raising to STRENGTH of GOD to the HIGHEST POWER.

No wonder He is referred as THE MOST HIGH!
It means GOD-VERY GOD.

That there is nothing in God that is not God.
That there is nothing about God that is not God.

Elohim is the first name that appears in the Bible.

"In the beginning GOD created..."
............................................

And our national anthem begins so well
"O God of all creation..."

"Ee MUNGU NGUVU yetu.."

At University, whenever we came up with a design,
we also made a model of it.
And because I was the one who made it ,
I called it mine.
And whenever one tempered with it,
tungeletana juu sana. [Trouble was brewing.]

That is how God feels about what He designed and Created.
It is His.
I am His.
You are His.
And Kenya is His.

This reminds me of a song that I like so much.
It goes like this:
"You created me.
Therefore I am Yours
I strayed and You redeemed me;
Therefore am doubly Yours.
[You called me to serve You,
Therefore am triply Yours!]

That is what our National Anthem screams.

God is our Strength.
Mungu ni Nguvu yetu.

He is our Creator.
Na ni Muumba wetu.

.........................

The Voices of Unity says it better than me....

"My heart, my mind, my soul belongs to You
My love, my life, it all belongs to You
Belongs to You."

The Warnings For Our Re-Birth: Dangers we Must Avoid

There is no [other] sin which will sooner bring about a nation’s fall [as the sin of moral breakdown]. If history teaches anything, it teaches that sensual indulgence is the surest way to nation’s ruin. Society, in not condemning this sin, condemns itself.
-F B Meyer

History is littered with the remains of once great empires, each one having had their turn at the very helm of the world, rising so high, yet today they are only a memory. History clearly shows that great nations rise and fall. Nations do not really die; they dissolve. It is a slow process of erosion. They self destruct due to dangers lurking within.

Where are the great empires of the past? Where is the Assyrian empire? Where is the Babylonian Empire? Where is the Roman Empire?

You can find what is left of them in museums, in ruins, and in a few ancient stone buildings frequent buildings frequented by modern tourists.

The glory that was Greece is nowhere to be seen. The grandeur that was Rome has vanished. It was once thought that the sun would never set on the British Empire, but guess what? It has.

What about America? Time will tell. One American Statesman said that America is great because America is good. Once America ceases to be good; she will stop being great. What about our beloved nation Kenya?

A study of the past empires shows common social, cultural and spiritual symptoms before they fell. Let’s keep our beloved nation in mind as we look at them.

Social Symptoms
i. An increase in lawlessness and the promotion of the wrong people
ii. A loss of economic discipline and self restraint; greed
iii. Rising government taxes and regulations; and a growing bureaucracy
iv. A decline in the relevance and quality of education

Cultural Symptoms
i. An increase in materialism and selfish luxury
ii. The weakening of the foundational principles that built the nation and made it great.
iii. Policies based on feelings and not moral discipline
iv. A loss of respect for established authority

Spiritual Symptoms
i. A rise in immorality and perversion
ii. The lure of alien gods and the exaltation of man.
iii. A decline in the value placed on human life (for example as evidenced in abortion)

Nations ready to die are plagued by lawlessness, economic insolvency, loss of values, self-centeredness and breakdown of social order.

Peace and order become impossible to maintain despite a deluge of ‘new laws’ to stem the flood. The barbarians then come and infiltrate and the nation can not resist. It loses its moral fiber and the will to sacrifice is no longer present.

These are well-worn paths to disaster and they are clear warning to any nation; our Kenya included. They are absolute reminders not to make the fatal movement away from God as Lord of all.

A nation that has forgotten God has no chance! The nation that does not fear Him has forgotten Him! The reason history repeats itself is that most people do not listen the first time!

The lessons of history are meant to lead us to the Lord of history. History is His-story and every individual is accountable to Him.

God repeatedly warns a nation and pleads with that nation before He removes it. And history shows that nations rarely listen.

Lets ,as a nation, become that exception.

Our nation is a sovereign state. God our Creator is the true Sovereign. All nations before Him are as nothing; they are counted to Him as less than nothing.

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance.

Doing right things bring honour to a nation, but wrong things bring disgrace and dishonor. Doing what is right makes a nation great, but doing what is wrong will bring disgrace. God devotion makes a nation strong; God-avoidance leaves the people weak.

Blessed is the country with LORD for God; blessed are the people he’s put in His will. Actually fortunate is the nation that pledges her allegiance to God and gives Him healthy respect. It is crucial that we as a nation take the God of all creation as our God.

Let’s not commit treason against our own purpose. Let’s not commit treason against our life. Let’s not commit treason against our destiny.

Before God, all presidents and popes, all kings and queens; all ministers and prime ministers are less than grasshoppers. To put it more accurately, they are less than nothing.

The direction which we are currently headed as a nation is destruction. It is the direction of self-destruction.

If we are not careful, this is what will be said of us.
That we missed our great opportunity
That we have lost our luster
That the nation that was meant to become the economic powerhouse in Africa
Has now become the shame of all nations
That the nation that was to be a model of good governance
Has become a lesson to other nations on what not to be
That the nation that was meant to be the leading exporter of inspiration and hope has become a swamp of ruins and despair.

We are Just a HuMan…
Even nations will be brought to account
To let them know they are only human
To let them know their mortality

What are nations there for?
Is it not to enhance the welfare of other nations?
And give refuge to the refugees
Is it not to connect other nations
To their destinies?

All this happens for kingdoms
To recognize
That there is a Power
Greater than all other powers.
They are just mere men
Not God.
That they should show dependence
Dependence upon a Power
Able to guide the destinies of men

CCTV cameras are everywhere

We are tied into a single
Garment of destiny
We are interdependent
Whatever affects me affects all
Whether directly or indirectly.

We are all Kenyans
We all dwell in the land
With the only snow capped mountain
Found along the equator.

We are all
Associated
With the reputation
And the glory of the nation

We are all
The standard
Against which
All other nations in Africa
Are measured.

We are all mortal
We all have a moral compass
We all crave to live meaningful lives
and we ought to live that truth.

Persistence

As someone aptly put it, nothing can take place of persistence.

RE- BIRTH OF KENYA

Re-Birth. A very powerful word. It is a word that presupposes that there was a prior birth.

It also presupposes that the experience after the birth was not as intended and hence the need to re-birth.

In the case of our beloved nation, the birth happened in 1963. A lot has happened that is not the way our nation was meant to be. It is so serious that it necessitates a re-building. This rebuilding or re-birth is not without pain....

LEGACY....

What legacy will you leave behind when you pass on? What will you be known for? What will your family members remember you for?

I want to be remembered as someone who inspired people around him. I want to die empty...having fulfilled my potential...

Until then...

SAMPLE THIS...

I have this love for inspirational quotes...Here is Sir Winston' Churchill's
(a former Britain Prime Minister):

"To every man there comes in his lifetime that special moment when he is figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered a choice to do a very special thing, unique to his talents; what a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or unqualified for the work which would be his finest hour."

This is also true for us as a nation.

The Starting Point

Recently I read a quote that shook me to the core....
"When you killed Tom Mboya you lost 30 years..."

I believe that is the starting point. 1969.

Tom Mboya's death destroyed nationalism and stirred tribal hatred to unimaginable degrees.

If we are to recover our footing as a nation, then we need somebody to restart what TJ had started and died with him.

Who is equal for such a task?
Who will transcede tribal lines?
Who will transcede national lines and become a true global figure?

How will she go about it?
How will he inspire us?
How will he influence us?

O God give us such one to take us where You want us to go! And do it fast!

The Democracy of Kenya: the Second leg of Liberty

After the Foundation of Spirit...Democracy is very KEY.

Why?

Democracy has to do with governance.

The rest is subject for another day.

The Economy of Kenya : The Third Leg of Liberty Stool

A person's spirituality determines the kind of views he/she holds. This inturn determines the kind of economic policy he/she will pursue.

How is this?

That is subject for another day.

The Architects of a New Kenya

I have been recently asking myself a few questions about our beloved nation...

Who will mastermind the kind of Kenya we Need?
Who will be the master architect of the kind of nation we crave for?
Who will do for Kenya what George Washington did for America or Nyerere did for Tanzania or even Mandela for South Africa?

Whoever that person is ; wherever he/she is needs to know a few things...

He must embody the hopes and aspirations of an entire nation.
He must have the capacity to inspire even people beyond the borders of Kenya.
He must have a clear vision and communicate it effectively to us.

My Degree Course

I have studied architecture. This course has taught me something I will never forget all my life....

What is that?

It is problem solving.

It requires one to identify a problem and then seek to solve it.
The issue needs to be in line with the our nation's Vision 2030.

The preferred way of problem solving is the Case Study Approach.
Here one looks at simmilar scenarios and how the problems were tackled whether successifully or not. And then he/she decides what to borrow and what to leave out.

Uhuru's Budget

What Uhuru did could as well ruin the economy. It is not prudent at all. It is a mirage.

The Spiritual Leg of Liberty

The beginning of the first stanza of our national anthem sums it all.
"O God of all creation..."
The American Declaration of independence reinforces this : "...all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their Creator certain inalienable rights. Even the nation's loyalty pledge is infused with the idea of Deity..."one nation under God" and their english motto "in God we trust."

What am I saying in all this?

The Spiritual leg of Liberty is the most important of the three. No nation can claim true greatness that ignores this truth.

So, what is the true spiritual foundation of our nation? On what premise was our nation founded? What character qualities did our founding Father embody that haunt us to this day?

Well, the answer to all that is left to another day....

Three Foundational Issues of Liberty

This is my thesis. This thesis based on the theory of liberty which was introduced to America by the Author of declaration of Independence and her 3rd president, Thomas Jefferson. This man was America's Rennaisance Man. An all-round man. Architect, author, inventor, statesman and Philosopher. All rolled into one.

He wrote saying that the stool of democracy has three legs: the spiritual leg; the economic leg and the political leg. All the three must be of same length if the stool is to be stable.

In Kenya the spiritual leg is very weak. The spiritual foundation laid by our Founding Father was shaky. The Political leg raised by his successor was based on wrong premises of divide and rule rather than a model of democracy. The Economic Leg that came into place after the Master Politician was totally unstable because of the weak spiritual foundation.

These Three make up the stool of Liberty upon which all Kenyans are to sit upon. Currently only a few sit on that stool. And all of us want to sit on it. The unavoidable result is that the stool will crumble.

How are we to avoid the unavoidable? How are we to evade the inevadable? How are we to circumvent the uncircumventable?

The Solution
I believe the answer lies in dealing with what our founding father did not deal with successively.
And what is that?

That is for another day.

If Not You, Then, WHO?

I heard one inspiring Speaker ask some very searching and deeply touching questions on a certain Sunday morning.

He asked:

If not me, then who?
If not now, then when?
If not here, then where?

I dare pose the same questions:

If not you, then who?
If not now, then when?

Re-Building a Nation in Ruins?

Is our nation in ruins yet?
Or are we heading there?

If it will be in ruins, then it means that it will need a careful and painstaking re-building.

And this is a very daunting task. A tough job like never has been. A really difficult assignment.

Who will be equal for such a mandate?

Time will tell.

Inspirational Leadership Needed

As I have thought and researched on the Destiny of our Beloved Nation, the notion of the need for inspirational leadership has kept resurfacing again and again.

Without this kind of leadership, it will be practically impossible for us to navigate through the kind of crises we are facing.

Only inspired leaders can provide this kind of leadership. Martin Luther King Junior was inspired. Mahatma Gandhi was inspired. Abraham Lincoln was inspired.

What about Kenya?

Who will step into the plate and provide this kind of guidance? Will you do it my beloved reader? Will you pay the price through thorough preparation in all areas of life?

I predict that soon Kenya will rise up to her calling and place in history and become truly the pride of Africa and the country of the 21st Century.

It is only a matter of time.

Watch this space.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

How do I picture the urgency with which we need real change in our beloved nation?
With what paint brush do I use to state clearly how desparate we are for conspicuous genuine change in all aspects of our lives?
How do I put it in black and white?

Well we are facing a cliff of total economic ruin.
Moral decadence has creeped into every aspect of our lives.
And corruption has crippled our government.

Which is the way forward for Kenya?

I believe it is in us electing inspirational leadership.
It is in looking for a statesman.
It is for seeking for visionary leadership.

Will we get that kind of LEADERSHIP?

I believe we will...Change is on the way.

Re-Birthing our Great Nation

I have been wondering about the future of our nation...

And I have asked myself a number of questions...

Where exactly are we headed?

Will we fulfill our amazing potential as a nation of model government and economic powerhouse in Africa?

Will we reach the dizzying heights of our exalted destiny?

Will we become an example of spiritual excellence and depth?

We really need a solution carrier and very fast.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Seeking Ideas

We as a nation are facing a series of crises.

We are facing a political crisis.
We are facing a spiritual crisis.
We are facing a moral crisis.
We are facing an economic crisis.

How do we get out of all these and Re-Birth this great nation of ours?

Send me ideas.
